I woke up on Mother's day to all of my children at my bedside and Soph yelling, "happy mommy's day, mommy"! Steve had a baby in each arm and breakfast waiting downstairs. Did I mention it was 9:30????? Oh what a beautiful start to a fabulous day! New tennis shoes, new earphones for my ipod, itunes gift card, and flowers...all for me??! It may sound like a hint to hit the treadmill, but we sold that to my friend, Kathy! I have put my running shoes back on and it feels great! Such a stress reliever....not that I have any kind of stress right now! As soon as the nice weather arrived, I opened the door without any carriers or toddler and started running. I felt like Forest Gump...I was sprinting out of my subdivision when I realized that I needed to pace myself so I could run more than a 1/4 of a mile and not have a heart attack ~I kept thinking, "free at last...free at last"! It was a really long winter, but we are now out of hibernation and everyone is healthy and happy. Especially me after I return from running. I feel better and much more relaxed to take on our hectic bedtime routines!
So, we had both sets of grandparents and steve's sister and brother in law over for lunch. It was perfect weather to sit outside on our deck with the twins in their walkers, and Sophie running all over the back yard. Lots of great outdoor pictures of our family on Mother's day..
To say that I love being a mom would be an understatement. Steve and I cannot believe how blessed we feelto have our children. I love knowing I am Sophia, Vivien, and Preston's mom, even if people know me as nothing else than that. I also really like saying that I'm this lady's daughter:) She helps, she gives advise, but above all, she laughs~a lot! Which has helped me laugh when I do things like blow dry my hair with the wrong end and think that the heater part is going out instead of flipping my head over and actually LOOKING at the hairdryer, or brush my teeth with balmex because it was in the toiletry bag I packed for Soph for grandma's house the night before. OR...no I honestly can't remember all of the absent-minded things I've done because, well, I'm completely absent-minded! But my mom and kids seem to love me anyway and that's the best mother's day gift you can have!
